The Heart Page 31
When he finished, she looked up at him with tears on the brim of her eyes. “My looks won’t change. The voice is going to be the same. I know how much my father loved my mother. I just wanted a little of that and he couldn’t give it to me.”
“I know, but that is something he has to live with. You on the other hand have a chance here to close that gap and forgive him.”
Ryan shook her head. “I don’t know if I can do that.”
“I thought the same way until a few months ago.”
“What happened?”
“I sat down and talked to my mother. I listened to her story and for the first time in my life, I called her mother.” Al hung his head. “Now, if I could do that, there is no reason you can’t do the same. After all,” he looked up into her eyes, “You’re just as much a man as I am.”
Ryan laughed out loud. “Really.” She sat the glass on the table. “Well, Mr. Day,” she straddled his lap, took his glass, and placed it on the table. “I’m afraid the man in me has been replaced.”
Al relaxed back, “Is that a fact,” he said as he placed his hands on her hips, bringing her closer to him. “With what?”
“A very horny woman,” she said as she pushed his locs from his face. She held his face between the palms of her hands. “I love you, Al Day.” The kiss she gave him was so sweet, powerful and filled with love that all Al could do was surrender his heart to her completely.
He gathered her in his arms and carried her into one of the bedrooms. They fell to the bed as he asked. “How horny are you?”
Her eyes were filled with sexual tension and happiness. “Very,” she replied.
He ran his hands behind her back and pulled her weapon from the back of her pants and placed it on the table. Then he removed her black jacket, and pulled her white tee shirt over her head. “Red lace?” He smiled. “I like it.” He placed kisses from her throat to the crest of her breast, as his hands roamed over her body. Her body squirmed under him as his thumbs brushed over her nipples.
“Al” she moaned.
He shook his head. “I’m taking my time. I want to make love to every inch of you,” he said as he unclipped the front of her bra. He looked down at the brown globes and exhaled. His eyes had turned grey when he looked at her. “Behold the beauty of a queen.” He dipped his head and captured one of her breast with his mouth, swirling his tongue relentlessly over it. Then he closed his lips around the bud and suckled until he had his fill. Not a single beat later he switched to the other and treated it with the same sensual frenzy as the last.
The need to have him inside of her was intensifying, but Al showed no signs of moving. Ryan’s legs widened to feel the steel of him at her core. She wanted the jeans off now but was too weak to move Al from her breast. Truth be told, she wanted him there too. Her body just wanted him everywhere. But it seemed Al was on a mission.
When he finished with the second breast he looked up and grinned. “You are definitely a woman.” He began placing kisses down her body until he reached her navel, which he paid special attention. In his mind this was the lifeline to his future children. He loved that area lavishly before unbuttoning her jeans. He literally peeled the jeans from her body and threw them to the floor. While he undressed his eyes never left her, until his pants dropped, and she looked down.
The man was raw sex appeal standing before her in all his glory. Her tongue moistened her lips as her mouth watered to taste him, but he had other plans. Kneeling at the end of the bed, Al pulled her body down to him. The only piece of clothing remaining was her red lace panties. He placed her legs over his shoulders, placed his head between her legs and inhaled. Her essence was so wet. The smell of her enticed him to no end, and he knew the taste of her was waiting. The tip of his nose touched her bud and her body jerked. He turned his head and sucked on the left thigh until she bucked again. His tongue left a trail from her left thigh to her core, to the right thigh where he sucked until she bucked again. Returning to her center he ran his tongue over the silky material covering her. “Marry me Morgan.” He whispered. “Say yes.”
Ryan was trying to respond to the man, but every time his tongue touched her core she was rendered speechless. All she could do was moan. He did it again, this time covering the entire area with his mouth as he continued to massage her inner thighs. “Say yes, Morgan.” She nodded, but he couldn’t see it. His head was still between her legs and he wasn’t stopping. His soft locs were teasing the inside of her thighs as much as his tongue was teasing her core. “Please, say yes.”
“Yes,” she breathlessly whispered. “Yes.” She could feel his smile between her legs.
He stood, ripped her panties away and thrust into her with one powerful smooth motion, filling her completely. The motion of his body never slowed as he pumped feverishly in and out of her. Their bodies slapped against each other with every love filled thrust. The explosion that ripped through their bodies was so forceful, Al fell backwards. Neither could move. Ryan was still on the bed, while Al just remained on the floor. A few minutes later, Ryan crawled off the bed and straddled him where he laid. Easing down on his still erect shaft Ryan sighed, as she moved slowly over his body. Al’s hands covered her breasts and massaged them with the same rhythm.
“Should we tell them we made up?” Ryan asked as she licked her lips with each swerve of her hips.
Al’s hands roamed down the curve of her body until they reached her hips. “And let all their well laid plans go to waste?” His hands helped with the movement, making the motion more deliberate. “That would be cruel.” He lifted his legs to support her back as he began thrusting upwards into to her. The inside of her was silky smooth and hot as melted better. There was no way he was ready to stop. “I want to deposit all my seeds into your womb right now. Am I there?” He thrust up as he slammed her body down.
“Not yet,” she whispered as her hip movements intensified. He thrust up again, this time a little more forcefully. That brought a deep moan from her. “Again,” she said breathlessly. He complied again and again and again until she screamed and her body released her juices. Al squeezed her behind tight, as her inner muscles vibrated around him and he pumped into her until his body exploded.
Chapter 23
A little over a month later, on the second Tuesday of November, Jeffrey Daniel Harrison was elected President of the United States. While the campaign staff celebrated at headquarters, JD, Tracy, their family and close friends watched the results from their home. After speaking with Jerry McClintock, who conceded the race, JD made arrangements to meet his Vice-President at the Convention Center to address the Nation.
Tears flowed from Martha’s eyes as she hugged her son. “Your father is watching. I know he is.”
“I know Mommy, I know.”
Ashley was next and she couldn’t contain herself. “Now we’re never going to be able to control that big head of yours.” She punched him.
“Hey, I think that’s a felony now,” JD teased.
Brian, Douglas and Calvin stood behind him. Before he could turn to them they tackled him to the floor. Douglas sat on him as Calvin held the high school yearbook. He read what was written by JD’s name. “Of all the kids in the school, Calvin is the smartest, but JD is going to run the world.” He closed the book then bent down to where JD lay on the floor. “We knew then that you were a leader. We were with you then, we are with you now. We will be with you forever.”
Douglas punched him in the arm, and then stood. He held out a hand to help JD up. They could all see the tears that welled up in his eyes. “Presidents don’t cry,” Brian frowned.
JD shook his head and just smiled at his friends. “Thank you for being my boys.” The four men hugged, then broke away, like it was abnormal.
JD turned to James. “It’s been a long run.”
James smiled as he shook his hand. “It’s just the beginning. I’m going to head out to the Convention Center. We’ll see you center stage.”
Only JD and Trac
y remained in the room. He stood there with his hands in his pockets gazing at his wife. Her baby bump was now showing, but she was still the sexiest woman alive. “You make me believe I can do this job. You’ve given me everything I’ve ever asked for. You make me the man I am. I don’t think you have any idea how much I love you, Tracy Alexandria Washington-Harrison.”
Tracy walked over to her husband and in that sweet baby voice that he loved to hear, she replied. “Oh, say it again, Mr. President.”
The grin on JD’s face was priceless. He pulled his wife into his arms and kissed her so deeply, they both fell to the floor pulling clothes off. An agent walked in. “Close that damn door!”
“Yes sir. Mr. President-Elect.”

Jeffrey Daniel Harrison stood at the podium, as a sea of people looked on. The Convention Center in downtown Richmond was lined with red, white and blue banners, balloons, posters, hats and any other paraphernalia available to mankind. The atmosphere in the room was more than electrifying; it was explosive. He looked to his left and saw his wife Tracy beaming with love and pride in her eyes. The intensity of the unspoken message that passed between them was more than he could handle. He stepped away from his podium, placed his arm around Tracy’s expanded waistline, then proceeded to give her the most passionate kiss ever witnessed by a national television audience. The crowd cheered louder, as they basked in the joy of knowing they had just elected another African American for President of the United States, which essentially meant that the Country was progressing into becoming exactly what the Declaration of Independence states, “We hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal.” Americans’ hearts were warmed by the knowledge that the couple standing before them truly loved each other, and The White House on Pennsylvania Avenue would once again be filled with children—an American family they could all look up to.
What was so wonderful about the moment was that when the cameras scanned over the crowd, it was to display the diverse nature of what America had become, truly one nation under God. Every ethnic group imaginable stood side by side cheering at the prospect of having a better future under the leadership of Jeffrey Daniel Harrison, President of the United States.
A hush came over the crowd as they waited to hear the words from the man who had just become the new leader of the free world. Every eye was looking toward the stage where the Harrison family and friends smiled brightly. The attendees waited patiently, anticipating the words of encouragement and hope they had become accustomed to receiving from the young man facing them.
JD returned to the podium, smiled and looked at the eager faces in the crowed. “Marrying my wife was the smartest thing I have ever done.” He bowed his head and chuckled, “Her love has made me rich beyond my imagination in so many ways. The most prominent of which is being able to stand before you today and accept the faith you have placed in me, to be President of the United States of America.” The crowd cheered wildly, almost in a frenzy, as JD scanned the room smiling.
One of the secret service agents whispered into the invisible communication device positioned inside his ear. “We have another President with rock star status, we need to tighten up.” At the command the agents on the stage moved closer to the family, as more agents entered into the room at floor level and spread throughout the crowd. JD continued with his speech as the agents moved about unnoticed, but vigilant. Midway through the speech, JD reached down to pick up his daughter, Gabrielle who was tugging at his pants. She captured his cheeks between her small hands and kissed her daddy. As the crowd clapped, Gabrielle joined in, smiling. JD smiled at his daughter and turned back to his speech. She then laid her head on his shoulder and listened as her daddy talked.
Brian Thompson scanned the room from his position directly behind JD. His trained eyes took in each level of the room searching for anything he considered a threat to the family on stage. After scanning the top levels of seats, his eyes drifted to the rafters, where some of the television cameramen took shots of the crowd below. A stream of light caught his eye as he scanned over the cameras. It was only a split second that it took his eyes to go back to the light, another second for recognition, then one more second for his body to react before shots rang out, with center stage as their target. The loud sound of the automatic weapons continued to flow through the air like shock waves. Awe and then screams filled the room. Secret Service sprang into action, covering the children and Tracy as ordered by the President-Elect. JD covered Gabrielle as Brian immediately hit him from behind, propelling him forward. He hit the floor with Gabrielle beneath him, and that’s when he heard a heart-wrenching scream that he was certain came from Tracy. With Brian and agents’ bodies surrounding him, his movement was limited and his line of sight was blocked. Reaching out he grabbed her hand, “Tracy!” he yelled out, to no avail. When the firing stopped, the room was half-empty, the crowd was still buzzing and agents were surrounding the stage with weapons drawn. JD looked down at Gabrielle, who was now crying. “It’s alright Gabby, Daddy has you. It’s alright.” He held her tightly as he scrambled to stand. Tracy was pulling her hand from his, frantically reaching for something. Following her line of vision, he saw the blood and his heart literally stopped.
The frenzy that followed was all a blur as JD scrambled to get to the body on the floor next to Tracy. His mind snapped. Is it possible his dream and worst nightmare had all occurred on the same night? How would he live his life knowing he was responsible for the events happening at that moment? How many lives would come to an end on that night, trying to accomplish a dream?

Hundreds of Secret Service agents surrounded the people on the stage. JD was pulled to his feet as was Tracy, but she refused to move. “JC!” She cried out. An agent fell to his knees to examine the child.
“Get my children out of here!” JD yelled as he fell to the floor next to his son. “JC,” he cried out.
“Mr. President-Elect, we have to move you to a safe location,” An agent pleaded.
“No, get Tracy out of here.”
“No, I’m not leaving my baby.”
Brian rushed over to Tracy, picked her up and surrounded by agents carried her from the room. JD took JC from the agent and held him to his chest, then carried his son out of the room. In the ambulance, the EMT’s were examining JC to see exactly where the wound was. There was a lot of blood on his face and his head. It was difficult to maneuver around the small, enclosed space with JD and two Secret Service agents around him, but the EMT did the best he could.
Cleaning the area around the child’s face, it looked as if a bullet grazed the right side of his head. “The bullet did not penetrate the skull. The graze caused the blood.”
“Then why is he unconscious?” JD asked.
“Mr. President, I don’t know. He could have hit his head during the fall. But his vitals are good and strong. We’ll know more when we get to the hospital.”
“Get my wife on the phone. I want to speak with every one of my children in the next five minutes.” JD sat there, holding his son in his arms, feeling helpless.
The ambulance pulled into the Medical College of Virginia hospital, not even five minutes later. Agents and police immediately surrounded it. The child was removed from the vehicle and taken into a secure location in the emergency room. That entire section of the hospital was closed down and off limits to anyone but essential personnel.
“Where’s my wife?” JD yelled. “Get her here!”
“She’s en route.” One agent stated as JD followed his son into the examination room.
“The President has ordered us to take you to a secure location.” Another agent stated.
“I’m not leaving my son.” JD replied as calmly as the situation would allow.
“Sir, I’ve been ordered to move you forcefully if it’s necessary.”
JD slowly looked up from the seat where he held his son’s hand. “Move me.”
It was a dare, not pe
rmission, for the agent to take a step towards him. Unfortunately the agent didn’t know the look in JD’s eyes was dangerous. Before he could react to the unexpected attack, JD had tackled the man to the floor and had raised his fist to strike him when Samuel and Brian walked in. They quickly pulled JD from the agent and stood him against the wall. JD pulled away, straightened his clothes, then retook his seat next to his son.
The doctor demanded, “Everyone except Mr. Harrison—out. The nursing staff jumped to action.
“Secret Service doctor, we can’t leave the President-Elect.”
“Then take the stupid one out, sit in the corner, and leave the man alone while I take care of his son.”
Tracy ran into the room as the agents scrambled to get out. “Jeffrey,” her voice trembled.
JD reached his hand out. She took it as tears rolled down her face. “He’s unconscious.”
“Mrs. Harrison, the bullet grazed his head,” The doctor tried to reassure her. “He is unconscious from the fall.”
Tracy walked over to her son, cupped his face in her hands then kissed his cheek and spoke softly. “Jon Christopher, Mommy wants you to wake up. Baby I just need to see your eyes look into mine and I’ll know you’re alright.” JC’s eyes fluttered open, looked at his mother, then closed again.
The doctor looked at the child, at Tracy, then at JD. “Let’s get him upstairs to do a cat scan.”
“I’ll go with you,” Tracy stated as the nursing staff prepared to remove JC.
